VSBA Inclusive Schools Fund St Georges Road PS
VSBA Inclusive Schools Fund St Georges Road PS delivers new well-being hub in Shepparton East, designed to support its users through functional, considered and context-responsive architecture.
About
The refurbishment of the existing office and breakout space at St Georges Road Primary School transformed an outdated internal area into a dedicated wellbeing hub designed to support student inclusion, emotional regulation and staff functionality. Commissioned by the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA), the project responded to the school’s commitment to creating supportive environments that address the diverse needs of its students.
The new wellbeing hub provides a calm and welcoming refuge for students who experience overstimulation during the school day, offering a considered environment that supports emotional regulation and positive engagement. The design approach incorporated sensory-conscious materials, colours and spatial arrangements to create a comfortable and adaptable space that responds to individual student needs.
Alongside dedicated student wellbeing areas, the refurbishment also introduced improved staff workspaces, enhancing functionality and supporting the educators who provide ongoing student support. Through thoughtful planning and an inclusive design approach, the project delivers a holistic environment that strengthens wellbeing, connection and accessibility across the school community.
The completed wellbeing hub has become a central part of the school’s support network, reinforcing the importance of safe, inclusive and student-centred spaces within contemporary educational environments.
