Parks Victoria Changing Places, Toilet Facility and Carpark

The Arthurs Seat Changing Places Facility and Amenities Upgrade delivered an inclusive and accessible public facility supporting the diverse needs of visitors to one of Victoria’s prominent tourism destinations.

About

The Arthurs Seat Changing Places Facility and Amenities Upgrade delivered an inclusive and accessible public facility supporting the diverse needs of visitors to one of Victoria’s prominent tourism destinations. Located adjacent to the refurbished Arthurs Seat Eagle gondola, the facility was designed to accommodate a significant increase in visitation, welcoming visitors from across Australia and around the world.

The project included a new Changing Places facility, carpark and amenities building, with universal access and user dignity at the forefront of the design approach. The facility incorporates male and female amenities, standard and ambulant toilets, a dedicated accessible bathroom, shower facilities, adjustable height change table, ceiling hoist and generous circulation space to comfortably accommodate users, carers and support staff.

The building orientation was carefully considered to maximise natural light, ventilation, safety and visibility throughout the facility, creating a welcoming and secure environment for all visitors. The completed upgrade enhances accessibility at Arthurs Seat, providing an inclusive destination that supports the needs of people of all abilities while improving the overall visitor experience.
