The Melton Ambulance Station was designed to provide a highly functional and contemporary emergency services facility, supporting the operational requirements of Ambulance Victoria while creating a distinctive architectural identity.

A defining feature of the design is the prominent blue translucent polycarbonate garage, which acts as a visual landmark for the facility. The material allows natural light to filter through during the day and creates a glowing presence at night, enhancing visibility and reinforcing the station’s civic role. The polycarbonate garage is complemented by robust brickwork elements, creating a balance between durability, warmth and contemporary design.

Internally, the station provides practical and efficient spaces for paramedics, including kitchen and breakout areas, amenities and resting quarters. The completed facility delivers a resilient and supportive workplace tailored to the needs of emergency response operations.
